light

A spiritual quality of holiness, life, truth, and joy. God created us in light and as light. Light is thus the substance of our being. The light He placed in us at our creation has seemingly been obscured by the fog of the ego, but it cannot really be obscured. We need to get in touch with this inner light. Once we do, it will radiate out from us and shine away the darkness in other minds, as we see past their bodies to the light in them. Illumining their minds will then make us more aware of the light in us.
The light of mental clarity, which makes true vision and understanding possible, and automatically dispels the darkness of ego, illusion, ignorance, confusion, sleep, and dreams. Rather than interpreting things in the dim light of our ego, and seeing things in many lights, we need to see everything in the Holy Spirit’s light. We need to bring our ego’s darkness out of unconsciousness and into His light (see bringing darkness to light, illusions to truth). And we need to let His light—which is found in us, in our brother’s holiness, and in forgiveness—light our way home, so that we do not lose our way in the dark.
