Volunteering with the Circle of Atonement

As a small non-profit organization, we rely on a diverse team of volunteers who have various skills and expertise with which to help us extend the message of A Course in Miracles. Our volunteers contribute to a wide range of projects, from behind the scenes jobs like app testing, website updates and editing, to more visible initiatives such as our Story Project. We really couldn’t do everything we do without our wonderful team and we are so grateful for every single volunteer contribution, whether it’s a couple of hours a month to several hours a week.

As the Circle’s Volunteer Coordinators, it’s our responsibility to ensure that everyone who offers their assistance is assigned to a project (or multiple projects) that will suit their skills and availability, and which is as rewarding as possible. The majority of volunteers who answer our survey say they have benefited from the Circle’s teaching of A Course in Miracles and wanted to give something back, but there are many other reasons that people choose to offer their valuable time and effort, such as gaining experience between jobs, or keeping active in retirement.

As a way of showing our gratitude, active volunteers are offered perks such as access to Circle of Atonement events and workshops at no charge. We also work to foster a sense of community among our volunteers and so we host quarterly meetings on Zoom and a private Facebook group where we can catch-up between meetings.

If volunteering with the Circle of Atonement is of interest to you, we would love to hear from you via the Volunteer Application Form. We are particularly interested in hearing from anyone with a passion for the Course and experience in fundraising, video editing, and event planning.

After you have submitted your application, one of us will get back to you to give you an idea of existing or upcoming volunteer opportunities that may be suitable. In the meantime, you can learn more about what we expect from our volunteers and what you can expect from us, in our Volunteer Handbook.

Thank you for your interest in the Circle’s volunteer team! If we can be of further assistance please don’t hesitate to reach out.

With love,
Avonie & Sarah

“Volunteering for the Circle ends up being a joy! Two wonderful reasons are giving back what has so freely been given and interacting with like-minded people. Win-win all around!” – Jennifer Sheehan, USA

“Working for the Circle as a volunteer is for me a way to somehow give back and thank all that I receive from them, as they are helping me so much to understand and apply the Course. At the same time, to meet other volunteers, work with them, share experiences, and grow together is another present that I am receiving.” – Miguel Carrera Troyano, Spain
