I like to think I am always alert for miracle opportunities. Being of service to help in the giving of a miracle is rewarding to me. But being on the receiving end of a miracle is not usually on my radar; that is, until now.
For some time, I have been struggling with finances for various reasons, such as under-earning, rising cost of living, helping my siblings with my elderly mom, and the list can go on and on. But something miraculous has happened as I tried my best to live my life in complete surrender to God.
Several months ago, my employer, who is also one of my closest friends, gave me a loan for a very large sum of money with a reasonable repayment plan. It might make the financial struggle stretch a bit longer, but I would be able to do what I needed to do. The repayments would be deducted out of my pay check every two weeks. Repayment was to begin the first of December.
During the last week of November, my friend and employer had our usual Tuesday morning meeting. During the meeting, he began complimenting me on how great a job I do, how much I give above and beyond, and he said he sees my heart. He told me the loan was null and void. What a surprise!
He said I didn’t owe him a penny. He was considering it a bonus for the year!! AND he insisted that I also take 3 weeks paid time off at Christmas to go visit my friends in Austin and my family in Louisiana. Before I could pick my mouth up off the floor he ended with, “This conversation is non-negotiable!” As you could imagine the tears began rolling down my face and for one of the very few times in my life I was completely and utterly speechless.
Then the ripple effect of miracles began! On my visit to Austin, I will house and pet sit for a friend, so now he does not have to pay for boarding his fur babies as he travels for Christmas. My mom who is in a nursing home is also thrilled and excited I will be coming home for Christmas, as is the rest of my family.
Miracles gently ripple their way through the dream and bless everyone.

Miracles occur naturally as expressions of love. The real miracle is the love that inspires them. In this sense, everything that comes from love is a miracle. [CE T-1.3.1]
